A last minute notice cancelling today's meeting was sent by email. It seems the weather was considered too inclement.
However, due to the vagaries of email transmission and reception, 9 members and our speaker did not receive the notice before they left to attend the meeting.
Our Program Chair, Steve Mooney did receive the notice but showed up at Angelica's anyway. It was not clear whether the speaker had received the notice. In fact, the speaker arrived shortly after Steve. When Steve gave him the news, he graciously understood and headed back home to take his wife to lunch.
Members continued to show up for the meeting. We decided to go ahead and have an informal meeting. It was really a social get together.
We had nine Rotarians in attendance at a single large table in the dining room.

Bob Alert
There was a Bob alert today!
Bob M who is generally the first at our meetings, was first again today but left when Steve informed him and the speaker of the cancellation notice. Bob M still gets credit for being there.
Bob W sends greetings from Botswana.
Bob L made up at Marco Island and sends greetings from Florida.
It's nice to hear from all the Bob's.
We got to enjoy the regular menu which was a treat…. Everyone had great conversations going.
The topic was, surprise, surprise, TIGER WOODS///// A lot of funny jokes about Tiger has surfaced since then.
We made our own news and declared Jen is having Tigers Baby! Who knew!
(She should probably check with Ron before going to the media!)
And the second piece of big news was, WHERE WAS THE MISSING EMAIL THAT THIS MEETING WAS CANCELED!
And where was Jeff our fearless leader??? Maybe Jeff forgot to put his snow tires on.
Another piece of news was that Harry likes to have a few Bailey's Banana Coladas at a beach bar, while in St. Croix.
Go Harry, partying it up on the islands!
We didn’t say the pledge (no flag) but secretly prayed the weather would cooperate while all us drove home, FROM A MEETING THAT WAS CANCELED!!!
Membership Moment:
A strong membership is so important to the overall success of any organization. Growth and retention have to be in the spotlight constantly. As membership chair I have been charged with heading the largest committee in the Club...each and everyone of us. Collectively we can make TBM stronger, more involved in the communities we serve and fun.
When was the last time you asked a friend, a neighbor or business associate to come to a TBM meeting? I admit, it's been a while since I put out an invitation and I have a goal to find one person to join our ranks during this Rotary year.
I ask everyone to please share your thoughts and ideas as to how we can grow the ranks of TBM.
