Bob Alert

The Bob alert was on high today as Bob Murphy was the only "Bob" at the meeting. Things just aren't the same without all the Bob's!

SAA Peter McAllister informed us that anyone with glasses pays a fine today!

  • Bernie Creeden had a happy dollar: Congrats Masco Football!

  • Peter had a happy dollar, his son is in full blown procrastination mode on his college applications.

  • John Plate had a happy dollar for a good Thanksgiving.

  • I'm not sure if PE Joanne's dollar was happy or sad, she has 45 9th graders coming over for a social this weekend

  • Pres. Jeff had a happy dollar Thanksgiving was over.

Getting To Know You:

This may come as a shock to all of you, but the big topic of conversation today was about Tiger. I'll leave it at that.

There was also a little conversation about mice and roaches. There everywhere, even places you would never think. So beware!

We were also trying to help Steve Mooney with some ideas for speakers or programs.
If you have any ideas please share them with Steve. He's willing to take any help he can get!

Annual Business Meeting:

President-Elect Joanne Travers introduced all current members of the board and officers, and asked those present stand. She thanked them for their service.

President-Elect Joanne then introduced Steve Mooney, whom she previously asked to be on the nominating committee with Todd Darling. Steve proceeded to introduce nominees for officers and the 2 upcoming board vacancies for the upcoming 2010/2011 year:

President: Joanne Travers (already elected December 2008)
Immediate Past President: Jeff Kruck (automatic)
President-Elect: Greg Silvano (nominated)
Vice President: Vacant
Secretary: Steve Mooney (nominated)
Treasurer: Bill Shannon (nominated)

Nominees for board members (vote for 2 vacancies, a 3 yr term) :

Bob Luscinski
Bob Murphy
Others?

Your name does not need to be Bob to be on the board!

A vote was taken to accept all nominees on the slate.

The vote was unanimous in favor of the entire slate.

President-Elect Joanne then proceeded to thank those who had served on committees...

She listed all positions (by area of service) and those that had previously served or who were currently serving as chairs/members. She thanked them and asked club members if they would consider serving in one of the available positions.

Membership Moment:

A strong membership is so important to the overall success of any organization. Growth and retention have to be in the spotlight constantly. As membership chair I have been charged with heading the largest committee in the Club...each and everyone of us. Collectively we can make TBM stronger, more involved in the communities we serve and fun.

When was the last time you asked a friend, a neighbor or business associate to come to a TBM meeting? I admit, it's been a while since I put out an invitation and I have a goal to find one person to join our ranks during this Rotary year.

I ask everyone to please share your thoughts and ideas as to how we can grow the ranks of TBM.

All the best,
Joe Long
Membership Chair
