President Jeff Kruck opened the meeting at 12:19 pm and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
John Plate led us in a prayer. John gave thanks for our fellowship and for Rotarians,
and gave thanks for visiting Rotarian Lionel Owen coming all the way from Brazil.
John also asked that we be always mindful of .
.
Bob Murphy served his last duty (maybe) as meal and attendance taker. Going forward the board decided to have one person different do it every week. There should always be someone greeting old and new members as they walk in the door.
Jan Sinclair helped again with the raffle tickets. Due to missing raffle tickets, we just used names instead of numbers today.
Thanks, Bob and Jan.
President Elect Joanne Travers, multi-tasking and arriving at the meeting just in time.

Click for
where our members have made up recently.
Don't forget, President Jeff Kruck has requested all members to Make-Up a meeting by attending a meeting at another Rotary Club. Members are also requested to bring some insight back to TBM for discussion.
Be sure to get a "Make-Up Card" from the secretary of the club where you make up.
If you're not sure if you fulfilled the Make-Up request made by President Jeff, check the list above. A missing name means you have not Made-Up or have not informed the TBM secretary.
This is also a good place for the Sergeant at Arms to look if enforcement becomes necessary!

We think Bob Was may be getting repaired....
Fines and Happy Dollars:
SAA Peter McAllister was in charge today.
Happy dollar from Gretchen Marks because she raised over $600 for the Road Race. Way to step it up Gretchen.
Happy Dollar from Joe Long - his daughter's team beat Masco
Happy Dollar from Joanne Travers, she met a very nice Weymouth Rotarian and they both were interested in the same views and interests with international awareness with the deaf and hearing impaired.
Getting To Know You:
We had one of the Visiting Rotarians at our Table today. Lionel Owen was in town visiting friends. He came all the way from Brazil where he lives with his wife. He is an honorary member of the London Rotary club.
He gave us ideas on raising money for the club. In Britain they made a Christmas float and went door to door and collected money. Not sure if we can legally do that in the States.... But good idea anyhow.
We talked in great detail about the budget and how we would reach that approved amount of $20,000.00. We suggested bringing back the golf tournament. Bob Murphy and Jan Sinclair were really interested in that Fundraiser.
Program:
Pres. Jeff Kruck introduced our guest speaker Jackie White Director of the Topsfield Library. She has been the director for about 10 years. Working hard to educate the public on everything the library has to offer besides books.
It offers books, internet access, meeting spaces, small study areas, Wi-Fi access, and great internet based information area www.topsfieldtownlibrary.org.
On the website you can download audio books to cd, mps3, and it's iPod compatible.
The Topsfield Library was designed in 1934 and funded by the Gould Family. And still is funded by the Gould Trust, that family were the original founders of the Benjamin Moore Paint brand.
Jackie wanted to elaborate on how great the library is for business professionals. The research and references are very informative whether you are changing careers, going back to school, and searching for a new job.
Membership Moment:
A strong membership is so important to the overall success of any organization. Growth and retention have to be in the spotlight constantly. As membership chair I have been charged with heading the largest committee in the Club...each and everyone of us. Collectively we can make TBM stronger, more involved in the communities we serve and fun.
When was the last time you asked a friend, a neighbor or business associate to come to a TBM meeting? I admit, it's been a while since I put out an invitation and I have a goal to find one person to join our ranks during this Rotary year.
I ask everyone to please share your thoughts and ideas as to how we can grow the ranks of TBM.
