Rotarians O'er the World, You Lead the Way!

 

Commissioned to commemorate the visit of Donna Jean Wayman, Rotary International District Governor, District 7930, to the Topsfield, Boxford and Middleton Rotary Club, Massachusetts, USA, on September 6, 2006.

 
President John rang the bell at 12:15 MST and Joe Carroll provided the blessing.

 

Visiting Rotarians and Guests:

Jack Donaldson, AG, and member of the Burlington Club visited us today.

 

Make Ups:

There were no make up cards today.

If you missed today's meeting, you have until December 20 to complete a makeup.

 

Fines and Happy Dollars:

SAA Jeff Kruck made his rounds with Spencer.

  • Todd Darling Is looking forward to wrestling season.

  • Oscar Padjen was happy to be there.

  • Ira Singer was happy that the library construction project has been approved

  • Bernie Creedon was happy that the audits are completed and he expects an increase for Middleton.

  • Gretchen Marks was sad to not be able to attend either of the TBM holiday parties...

  • Bob Was Reminded everyone about the 4 Mile Village Party this Saturday.

  • Joanne Travers Wondered why Jeff Kruck wouldn't exchange cars when they ran into each other at the car inspection center.

  • Harry Martin thanked everyone for Sustaining Member contributions.
    He also presented Brad Swanson with his Sustaining Member wings.

 

Raffle:

Jeff Kruck picked 4 hearts.. no go!

Our visitor, Jack Donaldson, picked the wrong card too!

The Queen of Hearts is still at large!

 

Announcements:

  • President Elect 2007-2008 Todd Darling presented the slate of nominations for new officers and directors for the 2007-2008 Rotary year:

    President Elect 2008-2009 - Janet Larson
    Vice President - Jeff Kruck
    Secretary - Linda Parker
    Treasurer - Bill Shannon
    Director - Eden Hutt
    Director - Derek Scialdone

    These nominations were unanimously approved by the members.

  • President John reminded us that the Masco Chorale Luncheon would begin at 11:30am next Wednesday. John also asked for a countof those who would attend and dinner preference. The price is $24 a plate.

    John also reminded us that the TBM Holiday Party this Saturday would begin at 7pm, at Four Mile Village. The pot Luck sign up was circulated.

  • Gretchen Marks reminded us that BOX TOP SHOP will only accept winter clothes through Feb 1st. They will take other items, such as accessories, household goods any time of year. Rotarians are welcome to bring items to club meeting and give to Gretchen to donate. So far, $91 was raised through this project!

  • John Plate showed sample basket which Gretchen used to fill with donated Thanksgiving goods for those in need. Thank you Gretchen once again!

  • Comedy Night is approaching, February 8, 2007, 7-10 pm here at Angelica's. Paul Gilligan has come through once again and offered to help us out. Thanks to Joanne Travers for arranging the evening. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Call Joe Long 978 360-2793 for tickets. They make great Christmas gifts.

    Comedy Night

Program:

Today's speaker was Jeannine Cardoza Exec. Dir, of SAVE ONE LIFE, based in Georgetown, a non-profit helping hemophilia patients in other countries...with about 177 children supported through their efforts.

SAVE ONE LIFE was founded by Laureen Kelly, author, advocate and educator in the global battle against hemophlia, and whose son was born with hemophilia nearly 20 years ago. Laureen Kelly is president of LA Kelley Communications, Inc.

 

 

Upcoming Programs:

December 13: - We will be honored with the annual visit by the Masconomet Chorale
at our special Christmas luncheon. Bring a guest. Price is $24 per person.

  • Appetizers from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm
  • Lunch served at 12:15 pm
  • Masco Chorale at 1:00 pm
December 20: - TBA

December 27: - No Meeting

January 3: - TBA

January 10: - Michael Stare of Spectrum Fitness Consulting will educate us on our fitness needs and concerns.
