The clinic is put to work Mar 2, 2005
It still needs to be finished, but the walls are up, the rooms are partitioned and the roof is on. This allowed us to begin seeing patients.

The roof is ready to be poured.
From small beginnings, great thoughts grew:
Chicago's shorefront saw the opening day.
Two, three, a hundred, thousands knew
Their hopes for service as a theme would lead the way.
Love, work and service, said the sages, held the keys
To human progress, peace and happiness.
Soon, many more from lands across the seas
Joined to create the vast, wide effort we now bless.
Now, three small towns in Massachusetts fields
Contribute to this global service quest,
Believing each small act of kindness yields
Torrential good in places east and west.
In future years we'll build upon this base
To help our children, youth, adults and aging in the fray
Towards harmony, with knowledge, health and hope before each face.

Program:
Today's speaker was William Sargent who spoke about the weather. University Press of New England points out,"WILLIAM SARGENT is a consultant for the NOVA Science Series and has written seven books about science and the environment, including A Year in the Notch: Exploring the Natural History of the White Mountains (UPNE, 2001) and Storm Surge: A Coastal Village Battles the Rising Atlantic (1995). Formerly Director of the Baltimore Aquarium and a research assistant at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, he has taught at The Briarwood Center for Marine Biology and at Harvard University."
William specifically spoke about the potential for hurricanes and our vulnerability to these devastating storms. Massachusetts is statistically the highest likely candidate to receive one of these nasty storms and be flooded. Some are predicting that the increase in carbon dioxide levels has been the cause of increased hurricane activity. The Artic ice surface has been slowly loosing ground, contributing to higher tides.
Batten down the hatches!
Introduce a friend to TBM and ask them to come to a meeting. See you next week...
