The Tri-Town RotaNews - August 30, 2006
President John brought the meeting to order and Joe Carroll offered the blessing by quoting from some of Nelson Mandela's reflections.
Visiting Rotarians and Guests:
Brad Swanson, guest of Harry Martin, joined us today, as did Bob Courtlangus, guest of Janet Larson.
Make Ups:
There were no makeup cards today.
If you missed today's meeting, you have until September 13 to complete a makeup.
Fines and Happy Dollars:
- Bob Was was sad because he never thought that he would be so happy to see gas prices at $2.72!
- Bernie Creeden wasn't sure if he was happy OR sad----School starts the following Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Harry Martin gave $5 and said he was just plain happy.
- Gretchen Marks is happy that we assisted the Rotary Club in Argentina.
- Oscar Padjen is happy that Harry is happy!
- Peter McAllister found out that his son, Kevin, made the JV team for soccer. He is also happy that Harry Martin can't reach him via email because somehow Harry got on Peter's SPAM list. (Harry did remind Peter that he could still be reached via the phone!)
- Bill Shannon is excited about his upcoming trip to Alaska.
- Gary Sinclair was happy to be sitting and sharing a table with his best friend Bill Shannon.
Raffle:
Janet Larson and Gretchen Marks searched for the Queen of Hearts but both of them came up empty.
