Announcements:

  • The Meeting on March 15 will be held at the Scholars Den.

  • We have been invited to the Steward Elementary School in Topsfield to attend a play put on by the 3rd graders. It will be held next Thursday, February 16th at 9:15 AM. See Linda Parker for more details.

  • The Red Cross has contacted Jan Sinclair. There is a critical need of blood once again. Further discussion was made about organizing a blood drive among Rotary member/friends to assist in meeting the Red Cross' needs. Further details will be shared at the next meeting. One hundred Foundation Recognition Points will be given to those who donate, or who get someone to donate for them.

  • Be thinking about the golf tournament planning. Want to help? Please make it known. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Let's work together to make 2006 the best yet.

  • We're collecting useable paper to donate to the schools for our January project.

  • The District 7930 World Understanding & Peace Dinner for 2006 will be held in conjunction with another district this year, Maine District 7780! Program:

Today's meeting was held at the North Shore Technical High School's Logbridge Inn.

We were pleasantly greeted by former TBM member, school principal Rich McLaughlin.

We were served a delicious meal with class and attentiveness by the students.

For those who missed the meeting, here is the menu:

School Superintendant Amy O'Malley Spoke to us about the programs at the school, its students, and their success with the MCAS scores

She also spoke about the potential merger of North Shore Technical High School and Essex Agricultural & Technical High School. This would be a great benefit for both schools, but is currently bogged down by unknown state politicians who continue to stonewall progress. It's a shame that they can't put the benefits to the school and students above whatever reasons they are using to stall the project.
