Haiti Project Report
The clinic is put to work Mar 2, 2005
It still needs to be finished, but the walls are up, the rooms are partitioned and the roof is on. This allowed us to begin seeing patients.

Fines and Happy Dollars:
John Plate gathered his wit and circulated the room in search of musty dollar bills.
Happy dollars sprang from "former" selectman Bob Was as he stood before us as no longer a selectman from the great town of Boxford. 9 years Bob served the community. Something tells me that like Bob Murphy, Bob Was will somehow, some way, still remain involved. He was also happy for the ceremony that is to take place tonight naming the Masco media Center after Joe Carroll.
Bernie Creedon paid Spencer for his appreciation of Bob Was' service and support of the schools, happy for the passing of the Boxford over rides and hopes for Topsfield's resolution over it's operating budget.
Eden Hutt, fogged over, dazed and confused dropped in some old lire that he had for his days in Italy.
Harry Martin is happy to report that all existing sustaining members have repeated their vows. No we don't do Gregorian Chants, but we do pay particular attention to the importance of the Rotary Foundation. TBM is third in the district in per capita giving currently; can we make it to number one? Time will tell.
Adam Scott was left speechless and deposited a buck or two.
Jan Sinclair was happy about Aubrey heading to Haiti in August to help out with the medical center.
Gary Sinclair was happy too, after everyone stopped to hear what he had to say.
Peter McAllister was happy that his chauffeuring days are limited to just a few, Seems he's been hired as a Winnebago driver for prom night. Great and I was worried about the kid down the street with the van.
Jim Fitzgerald was happy too.
Raffle:
The eight of clubs still remains in the deck...or does it Bob Murphy? You'll have to wait for two weeks as the TBM Road Show travels to the Golf Tournament at the Ferncroft. Lunch will be at 12:00 PM near the clubhouse. Show up next week and show these golfers what we're all about.
Announcements
Golf is a week away. Sponsor signs are still available and checks for the hole sponsors are to be made out to the TBM Rotary Foundation. Know any golfers who'd like to get out for a great day and a great cause? We still need foursomes too.
President Linda announced that the meals expense is increasing slightly. The membership voted that we'll be paying $15 for those who want into the raffle and $13 for those who do not want to take a chance. Denver Wallace is putting together his resume, since full retirement is now out of the question.
We will be not be a meeting on May 25th.
The Golf Tournament, our biggest fund raiser of the year is just around the corner, less than one week away.
Volunteers are needed in all departments, sponsor sign ups, marketing, p.r., recruiting golfers, donation collections and more.
Please volunteer your services and let Todd know that you can help.
Sign sponsorships can still be sold. Names of new sponsors especially need to be submitted so that we can get signs made up.
In lieu of our regular meeting all members are invited to join the golf crowd for lunch. Many attended last year's event and the golfers got a chance to see who is behind the scenes of this important fund raiser.
Joanne Travers is heading to The Dominican Republic a week from Saturday on the mission supported by RI and TBM. She showed some of the materials being used to support the mission. Testing equipment, hearing aides, sound proofing materials, interactive toys, and books and training aides for both parents and teachers. The team of six will be arriving in the The Dominican Republic on Saturday May 28th ready to go to work. This project is something we should all be proud of and I can't wait to see and hear the news of how all goes. Thank you Joanne and all who travel with you!!
The value of this project now exceeds the $26,000.00 mark as a result of combining the Rotary Foundation Major Matching Grant of $10,500.00 with an additional $9,000.00 support from Partners for A Greater Voice and the more than $7,000.00 worth of donated goods that have already been shipped to The Dominican Republic.
The 7th annual TBM Golf Tournament will be held May 26th 2005 at the Ferncroft. We are still in search of Golfers. Sponsors are welcome too. The more the merrier. Todd will be holding a "bagging" evening at his barn. Goody bags for the golfers. I really don't want to do this because when I do, I feel like the 6 year old kid on Christmas morning who snooped through his parent's closet the week before. I want a surprise!!!
