The Tri-Town RotaNews - May 4, 2005

President Linda rang the bell and Joe Carroll gave us a thought for the day. "When you give of yourself, you truly give." Rotary is truly a reflection of that statement.

Visiting Rotarians and Guests:

Visiting Rotarians included Rachel Williams from Ipswich, Ted Van Nahl from Amesbury, Herb Harris from Peabody and Luciano Airoldi, the GSE team leader from District 2040.

Todd Darling made up at on April 26
and at on May 2

Fines and Happy Dollars:

Doctor John (Plate) grabbed Spencer and charged the crowd.

  • Bill Shannon spent $10 for being happy about a recent trip to Mexico and a thank you to Joanne Travers.

  • Dave Twitchell made a deposit.

  • Ira Singer was happy to be here.

  • President Elect Peter McAllister gave two bucks.

  • Jan Sinclair was happy about her kids coming home for mother's day.

  • Gary Sinclair was not and paid two bucks and probably a lot more.

  • Adam Scott dropped some cash into the pot.

  • Luciano Aioli was happy for the reception as was Maria Corsini.

  • Janet Larson provided some funds.

  • Harry Martin gave $5 for John keeping his whistle in his pocket, e mail patience and a sustaining member policy reminder. TBM has a policy for new sustaining members. Hit the $500 mark in donations and the Club will match it to get your first PHF. The only condition is that you remain a sustaining member for the rest of your life.

  • Bob Murphy had a buck left in his wallet.

  • Denver Wallace paid for the lack of a grand children infestation.

  • Herb Harris, our friend in Peabody gave a buck.

  • Joe Long gave $5, 2 bucks for Harry's cause and $3 to for Jen Hutt's three weeks to go.

  • Linda Parker gave her $2 for guess what.

  • Todd Darling gave cash for his travels to the Reading and Wakefield Clubs where he is sponsoring new members. Yes people we can sponsor members to other Clubs. He's also working on a member for TBM. Way to go Todd.

  • Joanne Travers had a happy dollar too.

  • Joe Carroll's grandson's baseball team has won 4 straight.

  • Gretchen Marks was happy for the GSE teams presence and her efforts for getting hole sponsors. By the way Gretchen was the first to hand in a sponsor form. Thank you Gretchen.

  • Ted Van Nahl had a happy dollar for Amesbury. Thank you all!!

Raffle:

Much to his surprise, the first ticket drawn was in the hands of ont of the G.S.E. team members, Giampalo Bisanti. He tried his best, but was not successful in picking the winning card, and picked another ticket which was also his. Still no luck picking the card, but it was a lot of fun.

Program:

Today we had the GSE team from District 2040 in for visit. Luciano Airoldi the group's team leader gave us the low down on the Milan area. Maria Bergimo, a banker and Giampaolo Bisanti, a conductor and quite a character joined us and let us in on their worlds. Two of the team members, Michèle Lavagna and Mattia Busnach Ravenna, were at institutions related to their vocations. Photo by Joanne Travers
