RI President-Elect Jonathan Majiyagbe's theme for 2003-2004 is "LEND A HAND".
Governor Paul Nader
Close to 20 dedicated TBM club members made their way to Spinelli's Function Hall to attend a joint meeting with the Peabody club and to receive District 7930 Governor Paul Nader. Also attending was District Governor Elect Donna D'Agastino and Assistant Governor for the Peabody club, our own Harry Martin.
Speaking for the entire club, I would like to heartily thank President Joe and his wife, Julia, for hosting 30 club members and their families for a cookout last Friday evening. It was one of the best social events in recent club history! Most of us plan to show up again this Friday to see what's on the grill!

Raffle:
The Peabody club drew numbers for their weekly raffle and wouldn't you know it, the two highest rollers of the TBM club, Jack "Snake Eyes" Leitner and Bob "Aces High" Murphy had their numbers drawn. Both crapped out, which is surprising because Bob usually keeps the winning card in his pocket!
Fines and Happy Dollars:
A truce was declared due to the Governor's visit and no fines were collected.
Program:
Governor Paul outlined Rotary International President Jonathan Majiyagbe's goals for continuing PolioPlus and the Global Quest, for fighting illiteracy and poverty, for improving health and for recognizing the larger family of Rotary, which includes spouses and children of Rotarians.
Governor Paul went on to speak of his goals for District 7930, which center on M & M - Membership and Money. He is calling for each club to add one new member per month and to make every effort to retain those members they have. He offered that the Assistant Governors or himself to call any member who seems to be drifting away from Rotary in an attempt to resolve whatever conflict they may be experiencing. He reminded us of the VIP night on September 23, which is designed to expose potential members to the wonderful opportunity that Rotary presents to help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Regarding money, Governor Paul echoes President Majiyagbe's request that every Rotarian become a Sustaining Member and contribute $100 per year to the Rotary Foundation.
