President Joe (coach) Long receiving President's Gavel from Past President Bob Murphy on June 18, 2003
President Joe began the meeting with his usual "Good Afternoon Fellow Rotarians" - everyone responded, Good Afternoon President Joe, except Linda, who said "Good Afternoon President Bob"... Change is difficult, eh Linda?

Raffle:
Bob Was' number was selected as the first contestant in our raffle. John Plate "was told" that his number was the second number drawn "glasses!." Unfortunately President Joe forgot to bring the cards. He promises to have a deck at his house Friday night and Bob and John can select their card then. Joe paid a $5 fine for his forgetfulness.
Fines and Happy Dollars:
Peter McAllister came in very quietly and very late, but just in time to pay a late fee.
Bruce Maurice had to leave early, and graciously offered to pay a fine (this must be the custom in Danvers). He further offered to pay $10 if Harry Martin (who publicly refused to sit next to Bruce) would match it. A quick but intense round of negotiations resulted in each paying $20. Bruce also pointed out that he was not really upset with Harry, because Joanne Travers sat next to him, and she was, by far, better company than Harry could ever be.
Program:
As there was no speaker today, Chet Marcus, District Membership Chairperson, gave us a presentation on the district's membership goals, One New Member Every Month!. Peter McAllister's wife Maureen has just returned from the hospital. She's been having severe headaches and is unable to work. Doctors have ruled out the big things like cancer, but are pursuing other possibilities. Say an extra prayer for Maureen.
Peter's 15 year old daughter, Kaitlin, was riding her bike with a friend and decided to ignore the stop sign. Kaitlin made it through, but a car struck the friend. The friend has a broken femur bone and both have lacerations. Peter will give Kaitlin a week to recover before he deals with her for riding through the stop sign.
Joe Carroll's daughter was operated on today for ovarian cancer. Let's say a prayer for her as well.
Only 16 TBM Rotarians were present today.
Remember: Everyone is on the Membership Committee!! Please do you part in bringing in new members. Just think of how strong the club will be if we all bring in just one new member apiece this year!
If you want to be a part of the Fall Foliage Classic Road Race committee, talk with Ira Singer, Gary Sinclair, or President Joe. Welcome to Ron Gannett who has joined the committee!
Barbara gave Jan a piece of cheese so Gary could bait the mousetrap in her office. Jan offered to bring in the dead mouse to Barbara next week as a thank you.
